Vendors removed from streets of 3 main towns in St Ann

Several vendors were removed from the streets of Browns Town, Ocho Rios and St. Ann’s Bay, in St. Ann, during operations conducted, between last week and today, by the Municipal Corporation and police.

The operations follow reluctance by the vendors to leave the streets, after initially being given permission to sell there during the Christmas holiday period.

St. Ann’s Bay Mayor Michael Belnavis told Irie F M News that some vendors refused to return to the designated markets in the 3 towns.

As a result, the operations were carried out to remove the vendors. 

Mayor Belnavis pointed out that, this time around, there was no seizure of goods.
