Dead are 20-year-old Matthew Smith also known as Cool Jay, Giovanni Ferguson otherwise called Gio and Jaheim Ferguson otherwise called Jay Jay all from Central Village.

Police say the men were standing in the community when they were pounced upon by gunmen who opened fire hitting them.

The wounded men were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Head of the St. Catherine South police, Deputy Superintendent Michael Campbell said the incident is being investigated.

He called on residents to cooperate with law enforcement.
