Douglas Forrest Invitational to take place on January 11

The 18th renewal of the Douglas Forrest Invitational track and field meet takes place on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Stadium East.

The meet, which is sanctioned by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) will feature a wide range of events and will provide local track and field fans the opportunity to see some of the most talented young athletes in the island showcasing their skills.

Participating athletes will contest nine events on the track: 400m hurdles (Male Class 1-2 & Female Open), 3000m (Female), 5000m (Male), 800m (Male & Female All Classes), 200m (Female Classes 1-4 & Male Classes 1-3), 1500m (Male & Female), and 4x400m (Male & Female, only one relay team per school).

There will be four field events, high jump, long jump, triple jump open and shot put, which will be contested by boys & girls.

The Douglas Forrest Invitational, a highlight in the junior track and field calendar, had its inaugural staging in 2005. It was canceled in 2022 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
