The trial involving Prime Minister Andrew Holness and the Integrity Commission regarding his financial affairs is set to begin on October 13 in the Full Court.

The date was determined during a judicial review hearing yesterday.

Last month, the Supreme Court granted Mr. Holness and his three co-applicants leave to file a judicial review claim against the Integrity Commission and its Director of Investigations, Kevon Stephenson.

Mr. Holness, along with Imperium Investment Holdings Limited, Positive Media Solutions, and Positive Jamaica Foundation Limited, now has leave to challenge the August 30, 2024, Integrity Commission report on the Prime Minister’s statutory declarations.

Additionally, they have been granted leave to seek an order quashing the special report on the applicant, except for the paragraph recommending that Parliament develop policy and legislation addressing the commercial and corporate activities of government ministers and potential conflicts of interest.

Lemar Neale, a member of Prime Minister Holness’ legal team, told IRIE FM News that the trial will last for 10 days.

He added that the Prime Minister remains optimistic about a positive outcome.

He noted that the Attorney General has been added as a defendant in the matter.

Mr. Neale said a pre-trial is scheduled for June.
