2025 East Coast International showcase moved to bigger venue
The fourth staging of the East Coast International showcase featuring several Jamaican high schools will be staged at the Hughes Stadium at Baltimore’s Morgan State University on May 3.
The event which is the brainchild of Jamaican Olympic silver medalist Sanjay Ayre, will be moving from its original venue , the Prince George’s Sports Center & Complex, in Landover Maryland, to a venue twice its size .
Ayre had been working on the new venue for the last three years, and he now feels confident that he can build on the event’s early success, especially given that the spectator capacity at Morgan State University stands at 5,000, which is at least one thousand more than the previous location could hold.
The meet which will be attracting some of the top high school talents from Jamaica and the Caribbean to compete against some of the best and brightest stars from the US high school circuit, will be staged a week after the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, and it will be the first high school event to be held at Hughes Stadium in 10 years.
