Flow working to restore service to Corporate Area customers affected by early morning vandalism

Telecoms provider, Flow, says its teams are working to restore service to several customers in the Corporate Area, following vandalism of some of its cables.

Vandals reportedly set fire to fibre cables after breaching a manhole, causing significant damage to the company’s infrastructure early this morning.

In a statement this afternoon, Flow said some data, mobile and voice customers in Half Way Tree, New Kingston and surrounding communities are experiencing degraded services.

It said investigations have revealed multiple severances to both its fibre and legacy network cables in the area.

Flow’s technical teams estimate that repairs will be completed by 9 p.m., and services restored to customers on the fibre network thereafter.

Flow said customers served by its legacy network will be migrated to its fibre network before services can be restored.
