According to INDECOM, the police report that a team of officers was conducting operations in the March Pen area of Spanish Town.

The officers report that they entered a yard and a man fired a weapon in their direction, and in response, they fired at the man.

He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

One Beretta pistol was reported as recovered from this incident scene.

And 24-year-old Kemar Smith was fatally shot in New Nursery, Spanish Town, yesterday.

INDECOM says the police reported that they were on an operation in the area and upon entering a home and identifying themselves as police officers, a man pointed a firearm at them.

The officers returned fire in response.

Smith was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. One firearm was reported as recovered from the incident.

Yesterday’s incident scenes were examined, processed, and evidential material recovered from each incident scene was packaged.

The hands of the deceased men were swabbed for DNA testing and their bodies were photographed and sealed, pending post-mortem examinations.

Initial accounts of the incidents were provided by some of the concerned officers.

No body-worn camera was reported as being issued or worn during any of the incidents.
