Residents of Olympic Way and surrounding communities in St. Andrew are to start benefiting from a state-of-the-art cultural centre by August next year.

This as ground was broken for the construction of the facility, yesterday.

The $127 million project is being carried out by the CHASE Fund and is expected to be completed within 9 months.

Speaking during the ground breaking and handing over ceremony, Project Manager at the CHASE Fund Latoya Foster said the centre will be a multi-purpose facility.

Meantime, Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for St. Andrew West Central Andrew Holness said the centre will also be used for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, STEM training.
