JetBlue has added approximately 30,000 seats from the United States to Jamaica for the upcoming winter tourist season.
Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright noted that JetBlue will add the additional seats out of New York John F. Kennedy and Fort Lauderdale International Airports.
He highlighted that JetBlue will operate up to 9 daily flights from New York to Jamaica and up to 9 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to Jamaica achieving the highest frequencies during the December holiday season.
He noted that the American carrier United continues to operate 2 daily flights between their Newark International Airport hub and Montego Bay.
Mr. Seiveright added that tourism stakeholders are excited about new flights starting next month between Hartford, Connecticut and Montego Bay, St. James, by American air carrier Avelo Airlines marking their first international flight.
He said these developments mean that Jamaica now has full coverage of all major international airports in the U.S. Tri-State area.
