Driver charged in crash that killed two men along Washington Boulevard

The driver implicated in the death of two men following a collision on Washington Boulevard in St. Andrew on Saturday, September 28 has been charged.

He is Tor Anuar McIntosh of Rovan Heights, Kingston 6.

He has been charged in relation to the deaths of 37-year-old motor vehicle inspector Javaughn Rodney, of Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and 50-year-old businessman, Mark Garrick of Rudolph Avenue, Kingston 20.

Police say at about 3:35 AM, Rodney and Garrick stopped along the roadway to assist occupants of another vehicle which had overturned.

The two men were reportedly standing along the roadway when they were hit by a motor car being driven by McIntosh.

Rodney and Garrick were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Mcintosh was arrested and charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. His court date is being finalized.
