The St. Catherine South Police recorded a 25 percent overall reduction in major crimes for the third quarter of this year.
Head of the Division Deputy Superintendent Michael Campbell gave the update during a virtual town hall meeting, on Sunday.
DSP Campbell noted that despite the overall reduction in major crimes, murders and larceny continue to increase, slightly.
Noting an increase in the theft of motor vehicles, DSP Campbell urged car owners to invest in security systems such as tracking devices.
