Family and friends came out in their droves to the Bob Marley Museum last night as Reggae Singer Nadine Sutherland celebrated receiving the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer (OD), bestowed on her by the Government of Jamaica earlier in the day.
Stalwarts of the industry such as Donovan Germain, Marcia Griffiths, Gussie Clarke, Pam Hall, Diane Jobson were only some of those celebrating with a jubilant Nadine Sutherland with tributes and in song.
An elated Sutherland said she felt validated for her years of service to the industry, describing it as an absolutely ‘sweet’ moment.
Currently promoting her song 9 out 10, the Action hitmaker reflected on 45 years in the industry and what it took to be successful in a male dominated industry.
