JPS customers to see 34% reduction in fuel charge on September bills

Jamaica Public Service (JPS) customers should see a 34% reduction in the fuel charge component on their September bills.

In an advisory last evening, JPS said the fuel charge has moved from $32.17 on August 2024 bills to $21.29 on September bills.

It said the adjustment will have a positive impact on overall electricity bills for the month.

JPS further noted that the reduction is due to the stabilization of fuel variables following the disruptions caused by Hurricane Beryl.

Meantime, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has commended Energy Minister Daryl Vaz for securing what it describes as a major victory for JPS customers.

JLP Deputy General Secretary Charles Sinclair welcomed JPS’ advisory regarding the decrease in the fuel charge.
