The Tourism sector has earned approximately 2.97 billion US dollars since the start of the year.
The ministry made the revelation in a statement yesterday.
It added that Jamaica received just over 2 million stopover visitors between January 1 and September 14.
There were 3 million total visitors, including cruise arrivals.
Minister Ed Bartlett said this achievement marks an increase over last year for the same period.
The milestone comes as the minister departs the island for Brazil where he will participate in the Fourth G20 Tourism working group meeting, which starts tomorrow.
