The Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) and the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau are probing the fatal shooting of a man during an alleged confrontation with police, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, last evening.

Dead is thirty-four-year-old Owayne Allen, of Sydenham Cottage, in Spanish Town.

Reports are that about 7:35 p.m., lawmen were responding to reports of unlawful wounding, when a confrontation developed between Mr. Allen and the team.

Mr. Allen was fatally shot.

Police said a machete was seized during the incident.
