Approximately 1700 athletes from 134 teams are set to compete in the upcoming World Athletics Under 20 championship in Lima Peru between 27-31 August .

This following confirmation from the entry lists published by track and fields world governing body – World Athletics. 

Jamaica’s Junior record holder over 100 metres Alana Ried heads the list of Olympians who will compete for age group honours following the Paris 2024 Games. 

Reid a 200 metres bronze mealist at the last under 20 championship in Colombia, along with Kemba Nelson, Shashalee Forbes and Tia Clayton ran the 4×100 meters at the Olympics, where the Jamaican female team finished fifth in the final. 

Meanwhile, another Jamaican Kerrica Hill the 100 metres hurdles gold medalist from the last under 20 edition in Colombia in 2022 will be back to defend her title.
