A fifteen man West Indies squad, minus experienced all-rounders Andre Russell and Jason Holder along with Alzarri Joseph, has been named for the upcoming three-match T20 International Series against South Africa.

The team led by captain Rovman Powell and vice-captain Roston Chase, also includes Jamaican Fabian Allen, Alick Athanaze. Johnson Charles, Matthew Forde and Shimron Hetmyer.

Its completed by Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Obed McCoy, Gudakesh Motie, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd.

Russell who was part of the Windies run to the Super Eight during ICC T20 World Cup on home soil in June and was more recently in action for London Spirit in the Hundred misses out after requesting a period of rest and recovery.

The 36 year old and Holder, who has also been rested for the T20Is will both work closely with the CWI science and medicine team while Joseph, who missed the Test series against South Africa, will continue to take time off.

Opening batsman Brandon King will also miss the series as he continues to recover from a side strain.
