Hurricane Beryl weakens to category 3

Hurricane Beryl has weakened to category 3 and is preparing to enter the Eastern Caribbean.

According to the Met Service, as at 4 a.m., the eye of Beryl was located about 125 miles, East South East of Grenada.

On the forecast track, the centre of Beryl is expected to move across the Windward Islands this morning, and across the Southeastern and Central Caribbean sea, late today, through to Wednesday, when the hurricane nears Jamaica.

The Met Office says, fluctuations in strength are likely during the next day or so.

However, Beryl is expected to remain an extremely dangerous major hurricane.
