Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says the Jamaica Public Service, JPS has sought external assistance as it seeks to intensify power restoration efforts following Hurricane Beryl.

Last week, Minister Vaz said the JPS would seek external assistance if needed to restore power in a timely manner.

In an update on Sunday, Mr. Vaz said JPS has gotten additional contractors outside of their existing sub contractors.

He said the company has also received assistance from the island’s bauxite companies on engineers and man power.
