The National Housing Trust (NHT) will be providing a special grant to vulnerable contributors and mortgagers whose homes were damaged during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
This was announced by Prime Minister Andrew Holness in Parliament yesterday.
The grant is among a raft of measures being implemented by the NHT to assist persons impacted by the storm.
The special grant is to help with home repairs.
Another measure is a 3 to 6-month moratorium for NHT mortgagers.
Mr. Holness outlined that the NHT will also provide two hundred million dollars to assist with the national recovery effort.
He said it is expected that the roll out of the measures will begin by next Tuesday.
