A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of an elderly woman on Georges Street in Kingston on August 13, 2021. 

Trayvan Williams also known as ‘Chucky’, or ‘Weggie’ of North Street in Kingston is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition and making use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports are that 65-year-old Jacqueline Butler otherwise called ‘Red Red’ of Georges Street was sitting at her gate when she was pounced upon by Williams, who was armed with a gun.

Williams opened fire hitting Butler several times. 

The police were alerted and Butler was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation into the matter, Williams was arrested and charged.
