The Fisheries Ministry, through the National Fisheries Authority, has spent over $5 m in relief support to fisherfolk in Alligator Pond, Manchester.
The fishers had suffered losses following severe weather conditions in February.
Portfolio minister Floyd Green said the support provided to the fishers in Alligator Pond represents the first of many, as other fisher folk in other areas across the country will receive similar support.
