2022 World Junior 200 meters champion Brianna Lyston season is over ?

The Jamaican field for the women’s 100 metres heading into the national trials this month , has just gotten smaller , as the 2022 World Junior 200 meters champion Brianna Lyston has confirmed that her season is over.

Lyston the sophomore from Louisiana State University who finished second on the weekend to mackenzie long in the nc-double’ a 100 meters final, this morning wrote on her instagram, ….quote .. “Thank you 2024 ….breezy signing out”. ..(end of quote) .

The news that Lyston will miss the paris Olympic games qualifiers , comes less than 24 hours after the double olympic champion Elaine Thompson -herah had to be lifted off the track at the Ichan Stadium in New York yesterday following the women’s 100 metes final .

Meanwhile, Lyston who won the south east conference women’s 100 metres title on May 11, was visibly in distress after that race, clutching and pointing to her left thigh and hamstring, which was heavily wrapped. 

The former Hydel star who also claimed the NCAA Indoor 60metres titles at both the SEC and NCAA Indoor championships in February and March, finished second in the women’s 100 meters final at the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Oregon last weekend .

She also fifth in her heat of the 200 meters with a time of 22.76 seconds, missing out on a spot in the final .
