19 police divisions to receive electronic station diaries by March, next year
All 19 of Jamaica’s police divisions will be equipped with electronic station diaries by March, next year.
That’s according to Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Speaking at the passing out parade for three batches of police officers yesterday (September 14), the Prime Minister noted that the issue of statements being taken by longhand in books at police stations has been a longstanding one, which is being addressed by the Police Commissioner.
He noted that a pilot of the electronic station diary was rolled out in three police divisions – Kingston Eastern, St. Andrew Central and St. Andrew South.
Mr. Holness said a full roll out of the project is expected in a few months.
