A teenage boy was stabbed and killed during an attempted robbery along Lewis Street in Westmoreland early this morning. 

He is 17-year-old Anthony James of Dexter Street, Savanna-la-Mar in the parish. 

Reports are that about 12:10 a.m., James was along the roadway when he was accosted by a robber who attempted to steal his motorcycle.

He resisted and the robber used a knife to stab him several times.

The police were summoned, and James was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigations continue.
