15 y/o boy charged for murder of elderly woman in Clarendon

The Clarendon Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with murder for the July 1 stabbing death of an elderly woman in Union District in the parish.
The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old domestic helper Hyacinth Johnson, popularly known as “June”.
Johnson’s partially nude body was discovered at the rear of her home after residents noticed that she had not been seen or heard from and had missed her church’s night service.
The body also appeared to be in a state of decomposition and had several stab wounds.
Police say during the investigation the boy was named as a suspect.
The teenager was apprehended on Saturday during a targeted operation.
He was interviewed two days later in the presence of a guardian and a Justice of the Peace and reportedly confessed to the killing.
Its alleged that he told police he used a screwdriver to stab Johnson.
His court date is being finalised.
