12-year-old Jamaican Canadian prodigy, Jazmin Headley donates to Jamaican hospitals
12-year-old Jamaican Canadian singer, actress and philanthropist, Jazmin Headley through her Jazz Me Foundation on Wednesday, donated books and toys valued at over fifteen thousand CAD to the staff daycare units serving employees at the Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals.
The 12-year-old prodigy, also donated toys and books to the Paediatric Ward at the Black River Hospital on Thursday. CEO of the Black River Hospital, Diana Brown- Miller told IRIE FM that the toys will serve to stimulate, the children, provide occupational therapy and help to pass time, while they are away from home. Jazmin with sponsorship from East Health Technology Services Ltd, also donated a patient monitor valued at US two thousand dollars to the health facility.
This initiative is part of her ongoing quest to establish a Jazmin Corner in hospitals island wide.
Jazmin who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday of this week, told IRIE FM that she was influenced by her parents to give back to others in need, especially children in Jamaica. She said, their encouragement inspired her to make the decision some four years ago to give back for all future birthdays.
Jazmin is known for her collaborations with dancehall heavy weight Bounty Killer on a track titled Sing, Sing Sing and Goodness of God with Nigy Boy.
