An eleven-year-old boy was mowed down by a motor vehicle along the Nelson Mandela Highway in St. Andrew, yesterday. 

He is Duran McKenzie, a student of Ferry District, Kingston 20.

Reports from the Ferry Police are that at about 3:00 P.M., Duran, who had just disembarked a bus, attempted to cross the roadway when he was hit by a Ford Transit minivan.

The police were alerted and Duran was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, an investigation was initiated and the driver was warned for prosecution.
