11 people killed in crashes since the start of the week
Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council Dr Lucien Jones says 11 people have died in crashes since the start of the week.
2 people died in crashes in Kingston and Hanover yesterday.
The deceased are 26 year old Shanoy Irving of Johnson Town Hanover and a 60 year old woman.
In the latest incident about 7:59M. Irving was travelling along the Johnson Town main road ,when he swerved to avoid a pothole and crashed into a motor truck travelling in the opposite direction.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
In the other incident about 8:00 AM, the elderly woman was mowed down by a motor vehicle along South & East parade in Kingston.
Police say the woman was crossing the road when she was reportedly hit by a Toyota Coaster bus.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Dr Jones says November has accounted for 20 road fatalities.
He is urging Pedestrians to be very careful on the roads especially as the yuletide season approaches.
