The number of people fatally shot by members of the security forces since the start of the year has surpassed 100.

According to the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, 105 people have been fatally shot as at today.

The two latest incidents occurred in Ewarton, St. Catherine and along 100 Lane, Red Hills Road in St. Andrew.

A man alleged to be the don of 100 Lane was fatally shot in the St. Andrew incident.

He has been identified as Shaquille Dawkins.

Reports are that at about 8 am, police were conducting an operation in 100 Lane when Dawkins confronted them.

He was shot and wounded.

Dawkins was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A gun was reportedly seized during the incident.

Details of the fatal shooting in Ewarton were not available up to news time.
INDECOM is probing both incidents.
