1 dead, 13 injured following bus crash in Font Hill, St. Elizabeth
One man is dead, and 13 other people are injured after the public passenger bus in which they were travelling crashed along the Font Hill main road in St. Elizabeth, this morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Junior Ramsey, of Fort William District in Westmoreland.
Reports are that at about 4 a-m, a Toyota Hiace motor bus was being driven from Savanna-La-Mar towards Black River by Ramsey, when he lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn and roll over several times.
Ramsey and the 13 passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Black River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Head of the St. Elizabeth Police Superintendent Coleridge Minto said at least one passenger has been admitted in serious condition.
