$1.3B allocated for eradication of mosquito breeding sites and bulky waste removal across the island
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced an allocation of $1.3 billion for the collection of bulky waste and the eradication of mosquito breeding sites across Jamaica, following Hurricane Beryl.
The funds will go to the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) and the National Works Agency (NWA).
Speaking at this morning’s launch of the National Derelict Vehicle and Bulky Waste Removal Programme in Portmore, Mr. Holness said 100 workers will be deployed to the municipality to support these efforts.
