JCDC postpones Fi Wi Short Film Screening

The Jamaica Culture Development Commission has postponed its Fi Wi Short Film Screening originally scheduled for this Saturday October 5, 2024.

In a post on its official social media pages the JCDC noted that the Film Screening has been rescheduled to October 21 due to inclement Weather.

Scheduled to be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew, the selected films for 2024 will be showcased on the new date.

The Fi Wi Short Film Competition is free and open to members of the public ages 13 and over who have never made a film or had a screenplay produced.

The amateur Short Film Competition is the brainchild of the JCDC’s Drama and Theatre Arts Unit and sees entrants examining one of five selected Jamaican Proverbs and creating a short film based on their interpretation.

Entrants must submit a one-page treatment for a three to five-minute film and should consult the competition’s rules and guidelines listed on JCDC’s website prior to submitting their entries.
