Parents urged to provide children with emotional support

Parents are being reminded that their role also incorporates providing children with emotional support.
Sub-officer in charge of the St Catherine North Police’s Community Safety and Security Branch, Sergeant Kester Fennel says he is often perturbed by how parents view their children’s development.
According to Sergeant Fennel, some parents are more focused on only providing financial support for their children while ignoring their performance in school.
He noted that some parents are unaware that their children are staying away from school and called on them to play a more active role in their children’s lives.
