A 29-year-old Jamaican woman has been extradited from Panama to the United States to face multiple charges linked to an alleged lottery scam targeting Americans, including an elderly Pennsylvania resident.

Ashanie Campbell, who also reportedly resided in Panama, is accused of conspiring with 38-year-old Jeremie Cotton of Las Vegas to commit wire and mail fraud, as well as money laundering.

According to a 29-count federal indictment, the accused allegedly posed as representatives of Publishers Clearing House, contacting victims and telling them they had won millions in cash and other prizes, including a Land Rover.

However, victims were allegedly required to pay upfront taxes and administrative fees to claim their winnings, with additional payments demanded afterwards.

Investigators allege Cotton helped receive money from victims in the U.S. before the funds were transferred to other associates.

Campbell was extradited this week following her arrest in Panama.
