St. Mary police probe death of businesswoman

The police are probing the murder of a businesswoman, whose body was found at her home in Dover District in St. Mary yesterday.

Dead is 43-year-old Sophia Morgan.

Reports are that she was last seen closing her business establishment about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The following day, family members became concerned after being unable to make contact with her by cell phone.

Further reports are that her spouse went to her house and found her unresponsive yesterday afternoon.

The police were alerted and, on their arrival, Morgan was seen on a bed with what appeared to be injuries to the head.

She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The St. Mary police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them.
