“We are here to dominate” – Edwards touts JC chances at Penns
Reigning ISSA Boys champions, Jamaica College, are once again poised to put up solid performances at the 130th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
After playing second fiddle to Kingston College in the previous four Boys Championships, the True Blues overturned an 86-point deficit from last year and rattled up a 63-point gap over the Purples from North Street to lift the Mortimer Geddes trophy last month.
With this in mind, the Old Hope Road-based institution will be coming to Penns full of confidence and high hopes of a possible sweep of the three Championship of America relays: the 4×100, 4×400, and 4×800 meters.

Team captain Michael Andre Edwards, a double winner at Champs, is back to defend his Triple Jump title, while Champs record-breaking discus winner Joseph Salmon is down to compete in his pet event, and Javier Cato in the long jump.
Edwards confidently stated that JC has not come to play around and is here to dominate.

Edwards, who despite remaining eligible to compete at Champs again next year, is expected to take up a scholarship overseas, says his personal goal is to come and defend his triple jump crown.
Irie FM will have comprehensive coverage over the three days of action at the 130th running of the Penn Relays between April 23 and 25.
