Douglas moves to 10th all time Jamaican woman over 200 meters

The new National Under 20 200 meters record that was run by Shanoya Douglas at the 53rd Carifta Games that ended on Sunday in Grenada, is now the 10th fastest all time run on the Jamaican women’s list.

The ISSA Boys and Girls champs double gold medal broke her own national junior record as she dominated the girls Under 20 200 metres event taking the gold in 22.11 seconds

The Holland High student, led home the Jamaica quinella in the event as Natrese East placed 2nd for the silver in 23.39.

Douglas was later adjudged the Austin Sealy award winner for being the games most outstanding athlete.

Her 22.11 seconds run, is now 10th on the all time overall Jamaica list, just behind Sherone Simpson’s 22 seconds flat.

The list sees Sherika Jackson at the top with 21.41 seconds, Elaine Thompson Herah 21.53, Merline Ottey 21.62, Grace Jackson 21.72, Veronica Campbell Brown 21.74, Juliet Cuthbert 21.75, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce 21.79 and Kerron Stewart 21.99 seconds.
