Caribbean Premier League is returning to Jamaica
The Caribbean Premier League is returning to Jamaica for the first time in six years.
This was made official today despite the name and ownership of the new franchise yet to be revealed, marking a long-awaited homecoming for one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant cricketing destinations.
A brand-new jamaica-based franchise will signal the return of the CPL to Sabina Park for the first time since 2019
The gap followed significant structural changes within the tournament, most notably the relocation and rebranding of the Jamaica Tallawahs ahead of the 2024 season.
The Tallawahs, one of the league’s most recognizable teams, was moved and rebranded in Antigua, leaving Jamaican supporters without a home franchise.
The 2026 season will see four matches being played at Sabina Park which is widely regarded as one of the most iconic cricket venues in the West Indies.
