Navasky Anderson sets new Jamaican National Indoor 1000 metres record
World Championship 800 meters finalist Navasky Anderson was again in the record books, this after setting a new Jamaican National Indoor record, in the men’s 1000 metres at the Penn State University National Open on the Weekend.
Anderson broke the previous record of 2 minutes 19.96 seconds, set by Mario Watson in February 2000, to establish a new time of 2 minutes 18.53 seconds, the third fastest time in the world over the distant this year.
Meanwhile, another Jamaican Kelly Ann Beckford was also in the record books at the meet.
This as she clocked a new Jamaican Indoor 600 metres women’s record of 1 minute 24.44 seconds, to win the women’s 600 metres, breaking the previous best of 1 minute 25. 35 seconds set by Natoya Goule -Toppin back in 2017.
