Dancehall entertainer Mad Cobra during his performance in Hartford, Connecticut on the weekend, briefly addressed his recent run-in with the law.

In what seems to be a declaration of his innocence, the veteran Dancehall artist had a message for patrons urging them not to trust friends. Using Hillsong United’s popular song ‘Oceans’ as a music bed, Mad Cobra vented his disappointment with friends who he said deserted him during his time of trouble.

Last month, Mad Cobra was arrested, after deputies in Florence County, South Carolina, allegedly discovered two kilograms of cocaine in his vehicle after deputies initiated a traffic stop on his Black BMW SUV for speeding.

According to Florence County judicial records, Mad Cobra is scheduled to return to court on October 3.

If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
