Effective immediately, the Met Service has discontinued the flash flood warning and watch that were in place for several parishes.
A warning was in place for south-eastern and south-central parishes, while a flash flood watch was in place for southwestern and northeastern parishes.
The Met Service says rainfall data indicated that moderate to heavy showers affected sections of south-central and eastern parishes up to mid-morning today.
Thereafter, partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers prevailed across most parishes.
Analysis of satellite imagery showed that most of the showers and thunderstorms associated with the area of low pressure across the southwestern Caribbean remained offshore the south coast of Jamaica today.
The system is expected to slowly drift northwestward and away from Jamaica tonight.
This should result in the gradual stabilization of weather conditions across the island, hence the discontinuation of the flash flood watch and warning.
