Police have identified the taxi operator, who was seen in a video, throwing what appeared to be stones at a bus owned by the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).
The video, which surfaced at the weekend, has been circulating on social media.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, JUTC’s Acting Managing Director, Owen Ellington said he is optimistic that criminal charges will be brought against the taxi operator.
He also noted that the JUTC’s team will be conducting a damage assessment on the bus to determine if remedial action should be pursued.
Mr. Ellington has also urged people to refrain from vandalizing JUTC buses.
Citizens who have issues with JUTC drivers are urged to report the matters to the JUTC rather than resorting to violent confrontations.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has urged the taxi operator, who he identified as ‘Mr. White’ to turn himself in to the nearest police station.
