Olympic finalist Tia Clayton is showing on the start list in the women’s 100m event at the upcoming Wanda Diamond League meeting in Zurich on Thursday.
Clayton in her last outing ran a wind-aided 10.83 seconds in Silesia, Poland on August 25 to record her first win in the event on the Diamond League circuit.
In Zurich she faces a stacked field that includes Olympic champion Julien Alfred, world champion Sha’Carri Richardson, Dina Asher-Smith, Daryll Neita, Tamari Davis, Mujinga Kambundji and Marie Josée Ta Lou-Smith of the Ivory Coast.
Also showing on the start list for Thursday’s event is two-time world champion Danielle Williams who will contest the women’s 100m hurdles against Olympic champion Masai Russell, silver medalist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, bronze medal winner Cyréna Samba-Mayela and former world record holder Kendra Harrison.
The men’s 400m hurdles features Roshawn Clarke going up against world record holder Karsten Warholm, Alison Dos Santos and CJ Allen. The women’s equivalent will be contested by Rushell Clayton, Andrenette Knight, Janieve Russell and Shian Salmon with opposition expected from Olympic silver medalist Anna Cockrell of the United States.
Also in attendance will be Olympic silver medalist Rasheed Broadwell and former Olympic champion Hansle Parchment who will face world and Olympic champion Grant Holloway in the men’s 110m hurdles.
The men’s long jump includes three Jamaicans – Tajay Gayle, Carey McLeod and Olympic silver medallist Wayne Pinnock as well as gold medalist Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece.
Rajindra Campbell is the lone Jamaican in the men’s shot put, while Lamara Distin is among the athletes listed for the women’s high jump.
