United States Congresswoman Maxine Waters says former Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller’s contribution to Jamaica should not be taken for granted.
The US Congress woman says Mrs Simpson Miller rescued Jamaica from financial collapse in 2012, when her administration negotiated a deal with the International Monetary fund, IMF.
She says Mrs Simpson Miller used her influence to ink the deal with the IMF at a time when Jamaica was not taken seriously by International Financial Lenders.
She says Jamaica should honor the work of Mrs Simpson Miller and her influence as the first female Prime Minister of Jamaica.
