Taxi Operators Protest Over Bad Roads in St Thomas

Residents and taxi operators in Port Morant, St Thomas are protesting against poor road conditions.

The protest reportedly started as early 4 o’clock this morning.

Residents used several debris including cut trees to block the thoroughfare.

Meanwhile, several commuters including school children were left stranded as a result of the withdrawal of transportation services.

Some motorists have reportedly taken a detour from golden grove, through White Hall to the Morant Bay round about to avoid the blocked area.

The police are attempting to clear the road.
