Former West Indies under 19 player Shimron Hetmyer has earned a first time call up to the West Indies test squad.

Hetmyer, who made 97 in the first innings of the president’s eleven three-day game against Pakistan makes his way into the squad to face Pakistan at Sabina Park in a three match test series starting on Friday.  The test marks the 5oth at Sabina Park.

Also earning a first time call up to the regional test squad is the left handed Guyanese batsman Vishal Singh.

Kieran Powell, after innings of 58 and 84 not out for the West Indies president’s eleven, has been recalled to the test squad, this after being recalled to both T/20 and ODI squads earlier this month.

Veteran test batsman Jamaican Marlon Samuels was left out of the lineup, with his compatriot Jermaine Blackwood the lone Jamaican getting the nod.
