Sections of Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew are tense following two shooting incidents this morning which left four dead and two others hospitalized.
The incidents reportedly took place between 1:30 and 3:30am.
The police say the shootingshas been linked to gang violence in the area.
Meanwhile, in St James, three people are dead and one shot and wounded following three shooting incidents in the parish between yesterday and early this morning.
Thirty-six-year-old Jeffery Nedrick construction worker of Buck Toe Lane, Salt Spring, Montego Hills was killed by unknown assailants in St. James in the parish yesterday.
Reports are that about 10:19 p.m. armed men broke through his window, questioned him and opened several shots on him.
The police were summoned and on their arrival, Nedrick was seen lying on his back in the house with what appears to be gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Meantime, thirty-one-year-old Kingsley Cameron otherwise known as ‘Kevin’ of Bogues, St. James was also found dead at Gordon Crescent, Granville last evening.
Reports from the Granville police are that about 6:30 p.m., residents alerted them to an area where Cameron was found dead on a dirt track.
And another man thirty-five-year-old Craig Marlese labourer of Salt Spring St. James was also killed by unknown assailants in Salt Spring, Montego Hills St. James yesterday.
Reports are that about 2:30 a.m., Marlese’s relative came home and found him lying on the floor with gunshot wounds.
The police were summoned, on their arrival, his body was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper body.
