Second Escapee from Linstead Lock-up Recaptured

Another prisoner who was among six who escaped from Linstead lock up in St Catherine yesterday has been recaptured.

He is 33-year-old Daniel James of Troja St Catherine who is charged with rape. James was reportedly picked up by police this morning.

The first prisoner, who was recaptured in the Linstead market, has been identified as Alwayne Shakespeare

Four prisoners remain on the run.

Those still on the run are 25-year-old Shane Wellington of Cassava Pond in Ewarton St Catherine who is charged with murder. He is said to frequent Ewarton in St Catherine and Breadnut Hill in St Ann. Twenty eight-year-old Ezroy Cohen of Linstead who is facing rape and burglary charges.

Also on the run are 24-year-old Damion Daley of Linstead who is charged with arson and 29-year-old Anthony Jarrett of Linstead and Old Harbour charged with murder.

Reports are that about 9:30 a.m., police at the facility went to make checks and discovered that several of the inmates were missing.

The police are asking these men to turn themselves in or anyone with information as to their whereabouts to call the Linstead police 985-2285, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
