Richie Stephens will receive the biggest honour of his career at the 34th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards in the USA in May.
Stephens was credited as co-writer of Rihanna’s Work featuring Drake after his ‘Sail Away’ riddim, which was released in 1998 on his Pot of Gold label was sampled by the pop singer.
An elated Richie Stephens tells Music News that the honour comes after ‘Work’ was listed among the most performed ASCAP pop songs of 2016.
The exclusive, invitation-only gala celebrates the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most performed pop songs of the year.
In relating news, Richie Stephens is slated to perform along with the Ska Nation Band at the upcoming Reggae Sumfest in July before touring parts of Europe and the US.
